In an effort to stay connected with its partners, the Supreme Council of Health’s National Cancer Program (NCP) has launched the first edition of its internal newsletter. The newsletter will be circulated within SCH and its partners Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC).

The NCP Newsletter is an internal publication circulated every two months and covers different announcements and achievements related to the program, including updates on awareness campaign such as the Cancer Myth Refutation Campaign, announcements of new medical programs, and results from screening campaigns and health initiatives.

The primary goal of the newsletter is to keep all those involved with NCP updated and recognise the work delivered by the program’s different partners.

NCP Director Fiona Bonas said, “We are delighted to introduce this internal initiative, stressing on the importance of the commitment between the SCH, HMC and PHCC. It is of extreme importance for all partners to keep informed with NCP’s latest news, which will further strengthen the collaborative work amongst all partners and empower everyone working on this program to achieve the recommendations set forth by the National Cancer Strategy.”

The announcement of NCP’s newsletter comes a month after SCH celebrated the National Cancer Strategy’s third year anniversary. The National Cancer Program will continue to deliver the National Cancer Strategy which strives to ensure the community in Qatar is provided with world class quality cancer services.

Dr. Shaikha Sami Abu Shaikha, Manager of Special Care Program Division and Head of Cancer Screening at PHCC, said, “We are thrilled to see the launch of this newsletter as it is a forum for us to share news and best practice related to cancer screening and treatment and to motivate our workforce to deliver the best possible outcomes for patients.”

NCP is backed by strong political commitment and enjoys the necessary support of all its stakeholders and partners, including Qatar Cancer Society as a key stakeholder and a number of advocacy groups that operate under its umbrella.
