Last week the QFC Authority successfully hosted its 11th Networking Event for Business and Financial Professionals in Doha.
Over 200 distinguished guests from across the business and financial services communities in Qatar gathered in the Great Room of the W Hotel Doha to network and discuss business opportunities in a relaxing setting outside the office. QFC Authority officials welcomed guests from international and domestic firms, including QFC-licensed firms and others.
The variety of firms in attendance reflected the skills and expertise Qatar needs to ensure that economic growth and diversification are sustainable. Since its inception, the QFC Authority’s mission has been to support Qatar’s development. As the country’s infrastructure programme has gathered momentum and private sector investment has risen, the QFC Authority has provided a base for many types of domestic and foreign firms to help realise the Qatar National Vision 2030.
Yousef Mohammed Al-Jaida, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the QFC Authority greeted guests with brief remarks, saying: “We are delighted to host our popular Networking Event for Business and Financial Professionals once again. The number and variety of firms represented here this evening is firm evidence of the impressive progress Qatar has made in developing and diversifying its economy.” He also stated: “Over the last year or so, the number of non-regulated firms we have licensed has grown considerably. A significant and rising proportion of them are domestic Qatari firms which see the benefits of using the QFC Authority’s world-class environment to do business outside as well as inside Qatar. The QFC Authority expects these trends to continue. We look forward to welcoming more firms to join us on this exciting stage of Qatar’s journey and to working with all of you.”
Guests had the opportunity to discuss a wide variety of topics with each other and QFC representatives. This Networking Event builds on previous, similar occasions organised by the QFC in its capacity as an integral part of Qatar’s economic development.
