The National Cancer Program has been recently named Bronze winner in the Best Strategic/Creative Development of a New Brand category at the inaugural MENA edition of the Transform Awards 2014 which is one of the leading annual awards for the branding industry covering Europe, MENA and Asia.

The award ceremony was attended by 250 executives from the branding, advertising, digital and the communications sector at JW Marriott Marquis hotel in Dubai.

Dr. Faleh Mohamed Hussain Ali, Assistant General Secretary of Policy Affairs, Supreme Council of Health commented upon receiving the award, “It’s with great pleasure that we receive this award which celebrates all the hard work that went into launching the National Cancer Program as the beacon of hope to reduce the rising number of cancer incidents in Qatar. The Supreme Council of Health aims at reaching out to society to tackle cancer in the most approachable way possible, and I believe this award proves just that.”

This prestigious recognition has come within months of the Supreme Council of Health, Hamad Medical Corporation and Primary Health Care Corporation launching the National Cancer Program. Launched on the 4th of February 2014 the program coincided with World Cancer Day and is designed to implement the many recommendations proposed in the National Cancer Strategy. With the launch of its new brand, the National Cancer Program aims to raise awareness about cancer and promote a healthy life style in Qatar through high-profile awareness campaigns and community engagement activity.

After its tremendous success in Europe and Asia, the Transform Awards launched its first competition in the Middle East, focusing on ad, branding and creative agencies based or operating in the region, and recognizing highly creative and strategic projects created during the past year.

Inaugurated only four months ago, the National Cancer Program has commenced several social activities and awareness campaigns. Just recently, the National Cancer Program launched one of its highly anticipated awareness campaigns, #QatarAgainstCancer featuring influential figures from the Qatari society to start a movement against cancer through educating the public about the disease.
