The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange General Index (ADXGI) rose by 0.54 per cent to close at 4,985.49 points on Wednesday, February 26. Abu Dhabi National Energy Corporation (Taqa) added 0.70 per cent, reaching AED1.47. Earlier in the day, Taqa said that Carl Sheldon, after six years at the firm’s helm, has decided to step down as CEO and member of the board of directors, effective at the annual general meeting in April. Sheldon will remain as chairman of Jorf Lasfar Energy Company, Taqa’s newly listed Moroccan power business and will serve as an advisor to the board of directors of Taqa.
