The Qatar Exchange 20 Index gained 0.53 per cent to close at 13,189.56 points on Wednesday, July 23.
Vodafone Qatar added a tiny 0.31 per cent to reach QAR19.70. Earlier in the day, the second telecom operator in the gas-rich Gulf state said it suffered a net loss of QAR 27.41 million ($7.4 million) in the first half of 2014, in comparison to a net loss of QAR 84.87 million ($22.9 million).
Doha Bank slipped 1.72 per cent to close at QAR182 ($49.14 million). Arjuna Mahendran, the CIO of Emirates NBD wealth management said “with a 7.5 percent expected dividend yield in 2014 – the highest amongst EMEA Banks – Doha Bank remains one of our top picks. “
