Zain, the leading telecommunications company in Kuwait, announced the successful launch of its annual Ramadan ‘Iftar Al Saem’ initiative to provide fasting individuals with Iftar meals as part of its extensive Corporate Social Responsibility program during the Holy Month of Ramadan. The company distributes over 2000 Iftar meals daily, reaching over 60,000 meals throughout the Holy Month through four main Iftar halls in Jileeb Al Shuyoukh, Khaitan, Al Farwaniya, and Amghara.
Zain explained in a press statement that it considers the annual ‘Iftar Saem’ initiative, which comes for the ninth consecutive time this year, a main pillar of its comprehensive CSR campaign during the Holy Month. The Iftar meal banquets that are supervised by Zain’s staff are spread in four main halls in different locations in Kuwait as part of a strategy to cover the most populated areas of Kuwait in order to assure the maximum amount of individuals’ Iftar needs are covered.
Waleed Al Khashti, Zain’s Corporate Communications and Relations Manager said: “Ramadan presents a special occasion for Zain to communicate and interact with our customers and the public through our social and charitable programs. Just like every year, our team started preparing for the Iftar campaign prior to the coming of Ramadan to assure the process of distributing more meals to a larger geographical footprint goes smoothly.”
Zain concluded that this campaign is part of the organization’s growing support for charitable and social oriented programs, and is a reflection of its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy. One such program Zain organized before the start of the holy month featured the distribution of “Machla Boxes” to underprivileged families.
