This project is part of a wider plan by VCBank to establish high standard medical facilities, specializing in various branches of medicine, in the Kingdom of Bahrain; thus contributing to the efforts of promoting the Kingdom and the region as a key global healthcare destination.
The hospital will initially focus on the following aspects: –
- Orthopaedic surgery
- Sports medicine, including physiological diagnosis
- Pain treatment
The main medical team comprises of German surgeons, anesthetists, physiotherapists, and nurses who have extensive expertise in fields of orthopaedics and rehabilitation. The team is supervised by Professor Dr. Heinz Rottinger, a prominent global orthopaedic surgeon, who previously held leading positions in several hospitals in Germany and played a key role in the success of those hospitals.

VCBank is currently studying the feasibility of expanding the German Orthopaedics Hospital’s capacity over the coming few years to include a specialized equipped centre for medical analysis and tests in addition to establishing a global centre for medical rehabilitation”
Dr. Ahmed Aljawhary, Chief Investment Officer – Venture Capital and Business Development, said: “The German Orthopaedic Hospital project is based on the importance of establishing a centre of medical excellence in the field of medical treatment and orthopaedic surgery to serve the Kingdom of Bahrain and the region, and provide an effective alternative to medical tourism destinations, particularly Germany. The hospital has been equipped with the latest advanced technologies in modern medicine and will accommodate 18 inpatient private rooms and fully equipped operation theatres. The German Orthopaedic Hospital aims to fill the current gap in the healthcare sector, especially orthopaedics, by providing its patients with exceptional healthcare services”.
VCBank mobilized all possible resources including high caliber human resources, which were required for the success of this prominent medical facility; the team in charge of implementing the project included several highly specialized local and international medical technology firms, a German consultancy firm and specialising in designing and executing such medical projects. The project was overseen by Dr. Heinz Rottinger, and Mr. Saeed Mohammed Haji, Director of Venture Capital and Business Development at Venture Capital Bank.
