City Centre Clinic, a multispecialty medical clinic managed by Majid Al Futtaim- Healthcare and Fortis Healthcare International, has been raising awareness of key health and women’s health issues through a series of complimentary lectures for Majid Al Futtaim employees and residents in the community, conducted by the clinic’s resident specialists. With a focus on glaucoma and cervical cancer, City Centre Clinic is creating a call to action for men and women in the community to take preventative action through early detection and regular screenings.

“Community outreach initiatives such as hosting health awareness lectures bring added value to City Centre Clinic’s healthcare practice and disease management programs in the UAE,” said Omar Al Shunnar, Managing Director at Majid Al Futtaim – Healthcare. “Enhancing the quality of life of residents is inherent within the clinic’s core philosophy and our qualified practitioners are dedicated to creating positive changes through awareness and best-in-class practices.”

In recognition of International Glaucoma Day on March 4th, Dr. Adnan Obaid Al Rabeeah, Specialist Ophthalmologist at City Centre Clinic hosted a lecture themed: ‘Be Aware – Glaucoma is a Silent Killer’. Through education and early detection, Dr. Adnan stressed the importance of regular check-ups with an ophthalmologist to control the disease before major vision loss occurs.

The focus then shifted solely on women’s health in recognition of International Women’s Day on March 8th with Dr. Nirmala Raghunathan, a Specialist Obstetrics & Gynecologist who gave a lecture on ‘Cervical Cancer – Awareness and Precautions’.
