The Japan Iraq Medical Network (JIM NET) has contributed over $100,000 over the past five years to provide financial support and treatment for underprivileged patients suffering from cancer at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC).

JIM-NET originally was founded to provide technical, efficient and continuous support for Iraqi children with cancer. This year and due to the rising need and increase in number of Syrian patients in Jordan, JIM NET decided to direct their support to Syrian patients.

During January 2014, Jim-Net donated $15,000 to the King Hussein Cancer Foundation’s Syrian Goodwill Fund, in response to the increasing number of Syrian cancer patients in need of support. The Syrian Goodwill Fund provides limited financial assistance to underprivileged cancer patients who are not covered by medical insurance and are unable to pay for lengthy and costly cancer treatment.

Over the past five years, donated funds from JIM NET were used to deliver life-saving treatments to a total of 19 child patients of Iraqi nationality and most recently Syrian nationality suffering from various types of cancer at KHCC.

On this occasion, HRH Princess Dina Mired, Director General of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) thanked JIM NET represented by Mr. Maki Sato, JIM NET’s Secretary General in Jordan, and said, “On behalf of the many Iraqi and Syrian patients and their families who were able to continue their treatment at KHCC due to JIM NET’s support, we thank JIM NET as they are a living proof and an inspirational example of how we can all make a difference in the fight against cancer and support underprivileged patients.”
