The Qatar Diabetes Association (QDA) has urged the government to introduce a law to provide proper care for diabetic children, the Peninsula has reported. Through the ‘Rights of Students with Diabetes’ programme, QDA is mobilising efforts and urging decision makers at schools to create a safe environment for diabetic students to enable them to succeed in academic and health aspects, said QDA Executive Director, Dr Abdullah Al Hamaq. “We hope these responsibilities are endorsed by authorised institutions. A law enforcing our recommendations would provide necessary tools to take care of diabetic students and ensure all parties are aware of the schools’ responsibilities and duties towards the students.”
