The Community Police at the Ministry of Interior has recently honored the Corporate Communications Department and the Social Service Department teams at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) for facilitating their visit to Hamad General Hospital to see patients who were injured in the fire at Landmark petrol station.
HMC Corporate Communications Department Executive Director, Mr. Ali Abdulla Al Khater, attended an appreciation ceremony that included a delegation from the Community Police comprising Lt. Colonel Ahmed Zayed Al Muhannadi, Head of Community Policing at North Security Department, Lt. Colonel Sultan Mohamed Al Kaabi, Head of Community Policing at Al Rayyan Security Department, Lt. Colonel Ghanem Saad Al Khayareen, Head of Community Policing at Capital Security Department and Captain Mubarak Salem Al Qamra, Head of Community Policing at South Security Department.
Al Khater expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Ministry of Interior and the Community Police in particular, for the recognition of HMC’s efforts, and encouraged continued co-operation.
He also lauded their efforts and humanitarian services within the community since the establishment of Community Policing in Qatar.
“The partnership between HMC and the Ministry of Interior seeks to facilitate stable, safe and healthy living for all members of the community,” Al Khater said, adding that the appreciation ceremony emphasized the general willingness with organizations and institutions in the community to communicate and collaborate on issues.
“Our hearts are with the victims and families that were impacted by the events on Feb 27. Working together with the community police strengthens our ability to provide safe, effective and compassionate care to our patients, even in times of crisis. The events of February 27 were a good example of the benefits of that cooperation,” Al Khater stated.
Lt. Colonel Al Muhannadi lauded the positive role HMC played in providing medical services, as well as highlighting accident prevention and awareness to the community.
He noted that the roles being played by both organizations are complementary saying: “Our responsibility is to have all community members, nationals and expatriates, reap the fruits of community policing, and not just to enforce the law.”
He mentioned that the Community Police carries out regular visits to communities in Qatar to facilitate their peaceful co-existence.
“We are one of the key partners of HMC, and welcome our strong bond,” Al Muhannadi added.
