The service can be used by any corporate customer using a Primary Rate Interface or PRI, which is the standard service used by most medium and large enterprises for carrying multiple calls across a network.
Adnan Zubaid Khan, Product Manager for Fixed Voice and International Data Services at Nawras, said, “The launch of fixed number portability is a major milestone achievement for the telecommunications industry in Oman and an eagerly awaited development for the corporate sector. Like the previous introduction of MNP for mobile lines, this new service enables corporate customers with PRI services to transfer their current fixed line numbers to Nawras, in order to start benefiting from our pleasingly different products and services.”
“As a caring company, we are always on the lookout for more options to meet the ever-changing communication needs of corporate customers in Oman and we are confident that this new service will help our customers to get more from their business,” he concluded.
Khan added, “FNP for corporate customers with PRIs is the first step in a service that will expand over time to enable more corporate customers to join Nawras. We are thankful to the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority for their assistance with this project and we look forward to introducing the same service on a wider scale in the near future.”
Companies using FNP services will be assisted throughout the process to enable a smooth transition to Nawras. As they can conveniently continue to use their existing numbers there is no need to inform customers and suppliers of different contact details or redo any marketing or corporate collateral.
Nawras, a Qtel Group company, constantly seeks different and better ways to enhance technology services. As a dynamic company Nawras is committed to bringing customers new products and options to make communications easier, more versatile and a rewarding experience.
