The UAE Ministry of Economy (MOE) hosted an institutional excellence awards ceremony to recognize officers and experts from the Dubai Police for the support extended to the development and qualification of the Ministry’s personnel.
The awards were presented in the presence of His Excellency Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, UAE Minister of Economy, His Excellency Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Dubai Police Chief, His Excellency Eng Mohammed Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Al Shehhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy, and senior officials from the Ministry of Economy and Dubai Police.
In his speech during the recognition ceremony, His Excellency Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri confirmed that the Ministry of Economy adopts a policy of openness that is based on international best practices of institutional excellence. The transparency allows the Ministry to achieve its overall objectives of building a diversified and globally competitive economy led by empowered national personnel who are equipped with the required knowledge and skill sets. Given this priority, the Ministry of Economy is keen to foster a long-standing interactive relationship with its partners, and develop new synergies that facilitate mutual cooperation to serve the overarching interests of the country.
Al Mansouri commended the strategic partnership between the Ministry of Economy and Dubai Police, and expressed his pride at the tradition of service that Dubai Police is acclaimed for. He pointed out that the association between the two government bodies has often led to their collaborating as one integrated working team on the ground.
Al Mansouri, said, “Anyone who has witnessed the enthusiasm and dedication of the experts and specialists from Dubai Police during their training of the Ministry of Economy’s personnel will realize what I mean when I say that we are one team. Such sincere efforts have positively impacted the Ministry’s day-to-day operations as well as service quality, and supported our endeavor to achieve excellence. While on the subject of excellence, I would like to use this opportunity to sincerely congratulate the leaders and personnel of Dubai Police for receiving several accolades at the Dubai Government Excellence Program (DGEP) ceremony a few days ago. Such distinctions are testimony to the fact that the Dubai Police force has helped set new benchmarks of excellence, high performance and best services delivery.”
His Excellency Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina underlined the keenness of Dubai Police in supporting all federal and government institutions in developing a culture of excellence that would in turn elevate performance levels and positively impact the delivery of quality work. He added that in the long term such interactions would encourage a spirit of healthy competition among government institutions and departments to gain an excellence ranking within the scope of the Dubai Government Excellence Program.
Al Mazeina commended the cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and its efforts to promote strategic partnerships and coordination to achieve its goals and enhance the quality of services to nationals and residents of the UAE. He said creating such an enabling and proactive environment for the development of different sectors of the community would significantly boost the UAE’s image locally and internationally.
Al Mazeina pointed out, “The partnership with the Ministry of Economy is driven by Dubai Police’s endeavors to achieve its vision ‘Security is the Pillar of Development’.” He said, “The collaboration is also motivated by the Ministry’s role in elevating the infrastructure and economy to keep pace with rapidly evolving global developments even while achieving the vision of the UAE’s wise leadership in the run-up to Expo 2020.”
