The aid will be used for encouraging the jail mates to learn different skills and jobs for their benefit after serving jail term.
The PCID director Col Mohammed Saud Al-Otaibi received Sea Shore Group chairman Saeed Salem Al-Muhannadi and Board of Directors member Saqr Saeed Salem Al-Muhannadi at the Department. Col. Al-Otaibi thanked the Group for their financial aid of QR400,000 to support the rehabilitation of the inmates by the way of teaching them skills and works that may earn them livelihood while serving jail term and after that.
Appreciating the initiative of the Seashore Group, Col Al-Otaibi said that the Department is cooperating with many institutions in the public sector, but this is the first time, a private sector company is cooperating with the department.
On his part, Saeed Salem Al-Muhannadi said that the Ministry of Interior is spending great efforts in maintaining security and order in the country and it has achieved massive developments in its services provided to the people. The Sea Shore Group sees this as their national duty to support these kind rehabilitations.
The head of Welfare and Rehabilitation section at the Department Captain Jassim Al-Kabbi said that the Section is taking many initiatives to teach the inmates different skills and jobs and they are earning money by selling their products. They are also getting courses such as computer training, he added.
