“The growth reflects the investor friendly climate in the emirate, particularity for the re-export activities which accounted for 67% of the total trade exchange with non GCC Arab countries. The trade exchange with Arab countries has great potential to grow and is aimed at optimizing the Arab cooperation”, the report said.
Trade exchange with Arab countries accounted for 22.1% of Sharjah total trade exchange activities in 2008, but is constantly growing with efforts to implement the inter-Arab free exchange zone, according to SEDD’s study.
The study compared between Sharjah’s trade exchange with non GCC Arab countries and this with GCC countries.
