Senaat, one of the largest industrial holding companies in the UAE, is participating in Hannover Messe 2014 as part of a senior delegation of over 30 UAE government entities and companies led by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development. Hannover Messe, the world’s leading trade fair for industrial technology, opened on Monday 7 April in the German city of Hannover.
Speaking at a panel on UAE Industrials alongside HE Saeed Al Mazrooei of Emirates Global Aluminium and Eng. Thamer Rashed Al Qasemi of Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, Eng. Suhail Mubarak Al Ameri, CEO of Senaat, highlighted Senaat’s instrumental role in developing large scale industrial projects in Abu Dhabi. The holding company, he said, has invested over $4.4bn in non-oil sector projects since 2004.
Commenting on investment opportunities in the UAE, he said, “Operating as one of the largest industrial holding companies in the UAE, Senaat is fortunate to be able to build on the natural advantages and leverage the diverse resources of the emirate of Abu Dhabi. With a strategic location, integrated transport links, ports and industrial cities as well as a favourable, zero-tax environment, Abu Dhabi offers outstanding competitive advantage worldwide. We welcome opportunities to partner with international businesses and believe that together we can create, optimize and champion the UAE’s industrial assets, which are ripe for sustained growth.”
On the opportunities presented by the UAE industrial sector, he noted, “The UAE’s industrial sector has contributed 14% of the country’s non-oil GDP over the past decade. In line with Abu Dhabi vision 2030, plans are in place for the industrial sector to reach 25% of its GDP by 2030. This worthy ambition requires first-class engineers, cutting-edge technologies, international partners and an investment in research and development. Senaat’s project pipeline is diligently creating new projects in order to expand the country’s downstream capabilities and build local expertise, specifically in the metal industry.” “Abu Dhabi is a fertile ground for some of the world’s most ambitious industrial ventures and Senaat is leading the way,” he ended.
Fully owned by the Abu Dhabi Government, Senaat creates investment opportunities that help Abu Dhabi and the UAE on a journey towards sustainable development. The company strives to help Abu Dhabi to achieve an economic model that shifts reliance from oil to knowledge-based industrial sectors, in line with the vision of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
