: Thursday, May 22 - 2014 @ 11:35

The Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) held its third annual awards ceremony to recognise the organisations and individuals that are making significant contributions to raising the standards of the profession in the Middle East.

The awards were held in conjunction with the 2014 CIPS Middle East Conference. The conference addressed how procurement executives and experts in the Middle East are tackling the challenges that face their industry today, and what the future looks like for the profession. The Sustainable Supply Chain Success conference covered key topics that included the Middle East’s journey to sustainability, and the role that procurement has in the creation of a new and sustainable value proposition to businesses. In addition, the conference introduced the CIPS Global Standard for procurement and supply, and highlighted the benefits of education, certification and training in improving the employability and salary levels of professionals.

The final session of the conference was an insightful and engaging interview with Suhail Bin Tarraf, Chief Executive Officer, Tanfeeth. Suhail Bin Tarraf shared his success story in establishing the GCC’s first-ever Business Services organisation and outlined how much sustainability was a consideration in setting up the BPO.

The event concluded with the annual awards ceremony that is recognised as the highest independent accolade for the procurement and supply profession in the region.
