The United Arab Emirates (UAE) mGov has announced that the number of individuals who have received mGov training reached 769 people, including 679 government employees and 90 university students from all over the UAE, during the period between January and May 2014.
During the last 5 months, 48 training courses have been organized in various emirates around the UAE, which included 11 training courses in the field of mobile services, 11 courses in mGov ICT Infrastructure, 12 courses in smart application security, 9 courses in smart application development and 1 course on Mac systems. In addition, there have been 4 courses that were organized for university students.
The training program is one aspect of the mGov road map, which aims to spread a culture of Smart transformation and promote local talent and expertise commensurate with the nature of the ongoing transformations. The program also aims to enhance the knowledge of ICT professionals in government bodies, and sharpen the skills of students and make them aware of the importance of the shift towards mGov to implement the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
Commenting on what has been achieved during the past period, H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of the UAE mGov, said, “We were keen to be present in all the emirates to ensure the efficiency desired upon the shift towards mGov, and we were able to achieve good results. However, the tasks entrusted upon us is still large and requires more effort. I can say that success is the result of the immense response that we received from various local and federal government bodies, so I can only thank them and call for more joint efforts to achieve the vision of our country.” “UAE students also benefited from the programs, as they represent an integral part of the process of transition to the mGov. Through training and qualification, we are preparing a new generation who can lead this effort in the UAE, in order to achieve the transition to mGov through qualifying the required talents for this process,” he added.
Overall, the training program organized 14 training courses in Abu Dhabi that were attended by 236 participants. 10 training courses in Dubai with 152 participants, and 8 training courses in Sharjah with 141 participants, 2 courses in Ajman with 33 participants, 7 courses in Ras Al Khaimah with 192 participants, 1 training course in Umm Al Quwain with 16 participants, and 3 courses in Fujairah attended by 62 participants.
