The event was attended by Chemist Mohamed Helal, TVET Program Director, Dr. Ahmed Darwish, Team Leader, TVET Contract 6, Mr. Hussien Badran, Counselor of the Minister of Tourism & the Egyptian Tourism Federation (ETF) for Human Resources Development, Mr. Elhamy El-Zayat, chairman of the ETF as well as other senior Management from the PMU, ETP and industry. The event was also attended by Ms. Nevine Abaza, Director of the British Council in Alexandria.
In the light of this memorandum of understanding, the Egyptian partner will benefit from the exchange of expertise and know-how transfer in the field of technical assistance, consultation, training of trainers/teachers in the hospitality and tourism sector as well as upgrading and joint certification of the Egyptian trainees in the field. Both partners expressed their willingness to cooperate jointly to identify the needs of national and international recognition of training in the Egyptian hospitality and tourism sector and to develop a long term strategy for implementation.
This workshop is considered a step towards implementing a long term, sustainable partnership between both partners that will reflect on the capacity building and development of the ETP and the whole sector. The European partner will also benefit from this partnership in opening new markets and promoting their activities and programs in Egypt under the philosophy of mutual benefit.
