On this occasion, a delegation from the French Ministry of Agriculture will hold meetings with Egyptian professionals dealing with the specific sector (importers and breeders) as well as institutions such as the Egyptian Ministry of agriculture, Health services and Research centers.
Dominique Mauppin, Head of the French Commercial Department-Ubifrance in Cairo says : “After a sharp decline in 2008, imports of live cattles in Egypt resumed and reached around 110 000 in 2010. This figure is mainly due to the difference between local production and consumption, as well as the strong development of dairy industry. In this context, various business opportunities exist in the field of beef cows, high potential milk cows and genetic improvement”.
According to Dominique Mauppin, “this seminar will offer a real opportunity to the French and Egyptian professionals who seek further and tighter cooperation on key subjects such as genetic improvement and optimizing milk yields”.
During the seminar, many issues will be tackled by experts, such as cattle breeding in Egypt, the French cattle, the Egyptian policy on imports, the procedure of health certification, the services that could accompany exportation, as well as the testimony of an Egyptian farmer cattling French breeds.
