United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, February 27 - 2008 @ 13:07

The workshop aimed at building the capacity of business associations and private sector firms in developing strategy based business plans which would consequently enable them to enhance their sustainability and relevancy.

The workshop examined the concepts and techniques for developing a realistic and viable strategy based business and action plans that reflect the needs of association members while taking into account the outcome of the market research activities conducted by the associations. At the end of the workshop, the participants will be able to identify the required resources for developing the action plan of the proposed strategy based business plan.

Mr. Nazzal Armouti, one of the participants commended the efforts of USAID/SABEQ, indicating that the project sets an important example for the support provided by donor projects. He added: “This workshop has been indeed very beneficial. The workshop focused on the elements of developing a business plan, the methodology used in monitoring and evaluation, converting the business plan into an action plan, as well as the ability to reflect the outcome of the market research in the business plan.”

By conducting such workshops, USAID/SABEQ seeks to institutionalize the process within the culture adopted by each association and build on the Marketing Research training program, conducted last November, to ensure the associations’ sustainability and relevancy.
