The Kuwait Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Development and Planning Affairs Hind Al-Subaih said, the government’s new five-year development plan (2015-2020), focuses on economic reform and the implementation of several long-stalled mega strategic projects, Kuwait Times reported. “The plan aims to address a range of challenges and imbalances facing the socio-economic development process,” she told reporters. “Both decision-makers and the man in the street are looking forward to this process making tangible achievements that could live up to their aspirations and the huge resources of the country,” the minister pointed out. The plan has two-pronged objective; to address the imbalances in the economic reforms through giving a free rein to the private sector to play a bigger role in development; and realize the country’s strategic vision through the implementation of mega projects, Al-Subaih explained.
