The five-day event showcased the largest display of finished jewellery, luxury timepieces, precious stones, antiques and objets d’art in the Middle East.

Spanning all 16,500 square metres of available space at the venue in addition to specially commissioned temporary halls, Jewellery Arabia 2013 welcomed 600 companies 30 countries and registered a 10% increase in the number of exhibitors.

New participants included a selection of exciting multi-national high-end brands and the first official group participation of companies from the United Kingdom, coordinated by British Allied Trades Federation (BATF), and Singapore, coordinated by the Singapore Association of Small & Medium Enterprises (ASME).

Large national groups from Brazil, Hong Kong, India and Malaysia returned to Jewellery Arabia and exhibited alongside eminent international jewellery and watch houses, many of whom have used the exhibition as a platform to introduce exclusive collections and limited edition pieces to the Middle East collector’s market since its inception in 1992. A selection of the Middle East’s finest retailers and manufacturers, including a strong contingent from Bahrain, completed this dazzling line up.

The rise in number of exhibitors at Jewellery Arabia 2013 was matched by a healthy 5% increase in the number of visitors. Jewellery Arabia 2013 was attended by a total of 48,470 quality jewellery trade buyers and private collectors from 35 countries.

International visitors to the exhibition also grew in 2013. Significantly, visitors from the region’s single largest jewellery market, Saudi Arabia, increased by 4% yielding a total visitor share of 29%.

New for 2013, the show organisers teamed up with the world’s foremost authority on gemology, the GIA (Gemological Institute of America), to conduct complimentary seminars for visitors at Jewellery Arabia. Jewellery Arabia 2013 meanwhile set a record of a different kind when it was chosen as the launch venue for the world’s largest magazine supplement. The massive 20 page, 3.7 metre high by 5.7 metre wide supplement was unveiled by Trafalgar – Chopard’s exclusive distributor in Kuwait – and was officially certified by the Guinness Book of World Records during the show. Contents of the supplement shed light on Chopard’s largest boutique in the world at the Prestige Avenues complex in Kuwait and the project was completed under the supervision of MPP Middle East Media, publisher of Arabian Watches & Jewellery Magazine.

Awards and accolades continued at the 9th edition of the Middle East Premier Awards for Watches, Jewellery and Pens. Held on the sidelines of Jewellery Arabia 2013 on 19 November, the glittering event was hosted by MPP Middle East Media and recognised leading industry names for their creativity and distinction.

The next edition of Jewellery Arabia is set to take place from 18 – 22 November 2014 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
