The website of the Millennium Challenge Account – Jordan (MCA-Jordan) received the Gold trophy at the Jordan App and Web Awards Competition 2014 (JAWA 2014).
The website (www.mca-jordan.gov.jo) was nominated among many other websites in the category of Governmental Organizations and won the first prize for its unique design and development.
“We are so proud to have received the Gold trophy for our website. This is yet another achievement in the life of this significant US funded development program that promises to provide better living conditions to the people of Zarqa Governorate through the provision of better water supply and sewage services,” said Eng. Kamal Zoubi, CEO, MCA-Jordan.
MCA-Jordan implements a $275 million grant funded by the US Government’s Millennium Challenge Corporation to enhance economic growth and combat poverty in Jordan, particularly in the Zarqa Governorate.
The competition was held in cooperation between the Pan Arab Excellence Awards Academy (http://appwebawards.academy) and Media Scope, a media marketing and event organizing company. The event took place on June 8, 2014 at Grand Hayatt Amman.
Sofian Qurashi, Communications and Outreach Director, MCA-Jordan highlighted the importance of building an informative and user friendly website to facilitate communication with the company’s different stakeholders.
“MCA-Jordan’s communication with its different stakeholders has been commended and appreciated. The bilingual website is an element in that successful matrix that offers a proactive approach to reaching out to the relevant parties,” he added.
JAWA has evolved from the Jordan Web Awards (JWA) which was successfully organized four times by MediaScope. JAWA aims to serve as an inspiration for designers and developers to produce excellent work that meets international standards. Recognizing the creators of the best websites and applications and awarding their skills is the aim of the awards ceremony. This event is the only one of its kind, and is well established as the top awards event for the ICT sector In Jordan.
