We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic and reliable Early Years Assistants to assist in providing high quality care for children in our brand new Early Years Centre in Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The Early Years Centre is for children aged 3 months to 5 years, and consists of a nursery (baby room and toddler room), and pre-school. It is situated in Dhahran Tower, a luxury residential tower and compound, housing mainly expat residents. As our Early Years assistant you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day running of the nursery and pre-school, and maintaining consistent high standards of care and education.We are looking to recruit an assistant who has an absolute passion for working in childcare. As an Early Years Assistant you will need previous childcare experience with children aged 0-5 years, and preferably some experience in an Early Years setting. This fantastic opportunity would suit an enthusiastic, energetic, reliable and organised individual, who is a good communicator with excellent customer service skills. Main duties/ Job Description Operational:• To provide a high standard of quality care and education for every child• Be aware of all company policies, including Safeguarding children/ Child protection, Special needs, and Equal Opportunities and ensure these are adhered to at all times• Assist with implementing planned activities within the EYFS framework• Assist in creating an environment which is stimulating and attractive, and reflects the cultural diversity of all children• Assist with the care maintenance and security of all equipment and toys• To observe each child's progress and report on achievements, looking at progression and continuity• Complete children’s developmental and observation records• To understand and ensure that each child is treated as an individual and that their development needs are met on a going basis• Ensure confidentiality is maintained in at all times• Attend parents evenings when required• Follow procedures for the positive management of children’s behaviour• To know the dietary requirements of all children within the room and ensure that access to drinking water and healthy snacks are provided daily• Work within the ‘key worker’ system, building relationships with key children and their families• Work in partnership with parents• Be a good role model and encourage good practice• Undertake a shared responsibility for health, safety and cleanliness throughout the room• Adhere to Health and safety policies, and report any issues to the senior staff• Be fully aware of all emergency and security procedures• Operate the highest standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the bedding and nappy changing area and food surface areas• Recording accidents and incidents following the correct procedures• Be aware of any medical conditions or allergies and follow procedures accordingly Communication:• To attend regular staff meetings• To effectively communicate with parents on a regular basis• Communicate with all members of staff within the room, and liaise with Early Years Practitioners and Room Leaders to ensure continuity of careGeneral:• Adhere to all company policies and procedures• Be responsible for participating in all self-development activities including appraisals, supervisions etc.• Demonstrate a customer service attitude to all parents/carers and children that exceeds expectations• Working hours: Up to 40 hours per week, 5 days per week• To work with the team to run a Summer Camp outside of school term time
