Canadian Ocean Technology Trade Mission to visit Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates

The delegation includes representatives from more than a dozen Canadian companies and organizations offering a wide range of ocean technology services and products and will be led by the Canadian Centre for Marine Communication.

The trade delegation will arrive in Abu Dhabi on April 13th. After their three-day program in Abu Dhabi the delegation will depart for Jordan on April 17th.

Members of the media are invited to attend a special Seabed Mapping and Related Technologies Seminar on April 15th, 2007.

The seminar will take place at the Le Royal Meridien Hotel in Abu Dhabi, and will run from 8:00 am to 2:30 p.m.

The Ambassador of Canada to the UAE, HE Sara S. Hradecky, notes, “Canada has a world-class ocean technology sector. Canada’s shores extend from the Pacific Ocean, to the Arctic Ocean, to the Atlantic Ocean and have provided ample opportunity for companies to develop a range of services and products including communication, management of marine resources, mapping, engineering services, and data management among others. Representatives of a number of Canadian companies and institutions participating in this trade mission are eager to meet with their UAE counterparts to investigate opportunities for collaboration.”
