A total of 5,000 additional subscribers signed up to E-Vision’s services in a period of just three weeks following the launch of the promotion, a record number second only to subscription rate recorded in 2003 for World Cricket Cup.
The special offer gives new subscribers a 50 per cent discount on any of the E-Vision premium packages: Showtime Cable, Orbit Vision, e-Pehla and e-Firstnet. Installation is free, E-Vision having waived its customary AED 250 charge. The offer will continue for a limited period during June.
E-Vision’s call center also recorded a 25% increase in call volume with calls exceeding the 80 thousand call mark.
Humaid Rashid Sahoo, E-Vision’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “Customers have responded to the offer and we are pleased with the result. While price is obviously a factor we believe the quality of the entertainment packages we can offer are far more important.
“It remains a priority to offer value with quality and this special offer has been able to achieve both objectives. E-Vision is the only source of TV entertainment where subscribers can get any of the premium bouquets, and have access to 200 channels in 21 languages.”
E-Vision is a subsidiary of the Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat) and the only cable TV provider in the UAE. The company was established in 2000 and its services currently reach 300 thousand homes across the UAE.
E-Vision carries bouquets from Showtime, Orbit, ART, Pehla and Firstnet. Additionally, it has its own children, movie, interactive and information channels.
