Now in its 10th edition, the IAS – the region’s most popular automobile exhibition, is this year being held in conjunction with the Middle East Motor Tuning Show (MEMTS). Together, they are expecting record numbers of visitors following the upturn in the auto market.
The majority of major automakers are present at the show, including AGMC, distributor of BMW and Mercedes-Benz dealer Gargash Enterprises, as well as, Volkswagen and Arabian Automobiles, distributor of Nissan vehicles. The show runs until Monday 18 October 2010.
A number of models were today unveiled to the public for the first time in the UAE, including Mitsubishi ASX crossover and the Infinity M luxury sedan.
Other notable exhibits include a selection of some of the finest vehicles from the Sharjah Classic Car Museum and the Nissan 4×4 Zone, on which visitors can test their off-road driving skills.
The IAS is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. The show attracts car lovers and auto enthusiasts alike, not only from the UAE but from across the Middle East and with events for all ages.
The IAS and MEMTS collectively span 58,000 square metres of indoor and outdoor space with the event supported by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Emirates Motor Sports Federation.
