TEXPO brings together the leading brands in garment manufacturing technology from around the globe under one roof. The show offers an exciting chance for garment manufacturers and traders to see and source the latest range of innovations and breakthroughs in technology, machinery, equipment, accessories, and fabrics.
Registering a steady growth since 1994, the coming edition features exhibitors from China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Korea, India, Japan, Jordan, Spain, Thailand, Taiwan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Turkey, USA, UK and UAE.
Speaking on the special significance of the show in the highly competitive world of garment manufacturing, Mr. Fasahat Ali Khan, Deputy Director General of Expo Centre Sharjah said, “The lifting of garment export quota restrictions from 2005, under the Agreement on Textile and Clothing (ATC), has poised numerous challenges for garment manufacturers and exporters in the UAE and elsewhere in the MENA region.
“Competitiveness and specialisation in niche products will be the key to survival and growth for most firms in the post-ATC era. Since technology is the decisive factor for the competitiveness of any manufacturing environment, or to develop niche products, the staging of TEXPO acquires a special significance for garment manufacturers from the MENA region.
“Featuring the full spectrum of the latest advances and developments in garment manufacturing technology, the coming show will be an excellent opportunity for the region’s manufacturers to upgrade their facilities.”
Commenting on the exhibition’s wider reach and influence, Mr. Khan said, “Considering the current shift in manufacturing activity towards countries like Jordan, Kenya, Sri Lanka, we have likewise extended our visitor promotion campaign to these countries to interest prospective buyers to visit our show. We have researched their needs for new technology and products, and tried to tailor the show to also satisfy them.
“Given the above factors, we are confident to have a much higher visitor attendance from trade buyers, industrialists and professionals than our previous editions,” he concluded.
The show specifically features industrial & domestic sewing machines, knitting and hosiery machinery and accessories for the making up industry, pressing machines, industrial irons, ironing tables etc., embroidery machines, laboratory dyeing machinery, quality testing and measuring equipment, accessories, including machinery components, fasteners, threads, machine needles, raschel elastics, zippers, dyes & chemicals, tapes & ribbons, enzymes, softeners etc., yarns and fabrics, home textiles and more.
Speaking on the previous edition’s success, Ms. Lilian Segundo, Group Project Manager said, “A conclusive indicator of the show’s success and effectiveness is its very high exhibitor retention rate, close to 90%. Exhibitors return each edition as they have the unique opportunity to demonstrate their new machinery and processes before the key decision-makers of the Middle East and North Africa’s garment manufacturing and distribution industry. It’s a a cost-effective opportunity for them to access their potential buyers, who are mainly garment manufacturers from within the MENA region,” she concluded.
