The sponsorship was signed by Alex Dodds, President and General Manager of ExxonMobil Qatar Inc, and Ravi Raman, DGSS Working Committee Member. ExxonMobil is committed to operating throughout the world in a way that protects the environment and takes into account the economic and social needs of the communities where it operates.
“A key goal of ExxonMobil’s corporate citizenship strategy is to address the challenge of sustainability—balancing economic growth, social development, and environmental protection, so that future generations are not compromised by actions taken today. We believe the Four Pillars included in the National Vision will help achieve sustainable development for generations to come,”
said Alex Dodds, President and General Manager of ExxonMobil Qatar Inc.
As a driver of economic growth and individual prosperity, the energy business is essential to modern society and development. ExxonMobil is committed to support the State of Qatar and it believes that one of the most important contributions it can make to the State of Qatar and its citizens is to help support the economic growth and well-being of the country.
“We do this through investment, employment, support for the rule of law, assistance with education and training, the transfer of knowledge and skills, and the purchase of local goods and services,” said Alex Dodds.
ExxonMobil has offered a number of delegate passes to university students in recognition that students are the next generation of leaders.
The DGSS is the first ever sustainability and environmental seminar to be held in the State of Qatar. The intent of DGSS is to offer a platform for local and international speakers to discuss the pressing topics of green practices and sustainable development. These speakers will share relevant experiences as well as to prompt discussions on related environmental issues.
“Having ExxonMobil, the world’s largest publicly traded integrated petroleum and natural gas company, sign on as a sponsor brings a lot of weight to the DGSS’s discussion table,” said Ravi Raman, DGSS Working Committee Member. “DGSS looks forward to being a comprehensive platform for businesses, vendors and youth to engage and exchange knowledge and ideas.”
