The Fujairah Foundation for Regions Development has said up to 150 old houses in the UAE emirate are to be renovated and extended at a cost of Dhs10m, The National has reported. “The FFRD received about 300 applications last year from families,” said Majid Al Kindi, deputy director of the foundation. “Of those, 120 to 150 will soon be approved and completed this year,” he said. Of a total of 3,830 old houses in the emirate, 3,089 are in urgent need of replacement, according to a survey conducted by the foundation.
