HLG’s Omani unit clinches $32m contract for aluminium plant

Oman Aluminium Rolling Co (OARC) has awarded Habtoor Leighton Group (HLG), operating as Leighton Middle East in Oman, has secured a $32m contract for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a state-of-the-art coil coating plant in Sohar, Muscat Daily has reported. In addition to the coil coating process building, the facility will encompass a waste water treatment plant, natural gas reducing station, scrap yard, solid waste yard, hazardous waste area, pond, administration building, canteen, change room, warehouse, guard house and other site amenities. Construction is to start in May, with completion set for mid-2015.
