Oman’s Duqm Special Economic Zone has said India’s Larsen & Toubro (L&T) are the lowest bidder in a major tender for developing a passenger terminal and other support facilities at Duqm airport, Times of Oman has reported. Among the three companies that submitted bids, L&T is the lowest one with OR36.27m, followed by Galfar Engineering & Contracting at OR40.61m, and Abu Dhabi’s Mohammed Abdel Mohsen Al Kharafi & Sons at OR43.75m. Work on airfield development, including runway, long way, taxiway, apron, airfield lighting and other facilities, began at the beginning of 2011. The facilities at the green field airport consist of two air bridges, four remote aircraft stands, a 4-km runway and two link taxiways.
