Dubai’s much-loved Baby Bazaar – a monthly flea market for mums to sell their quality, pre-loved baby, toddler and maternity items – will host its first two-day on the 25th and 26th April, 2014.
Due to popular demand the market will run on Friday and Saturday thereby allowing mums who work on a Saturday the chance to participate.
“We are also excited to announce that we will be running a special Nursery Open Day event in tandem with Baby Bazaar market days on the 25th and 26th April from 9am-6pm,” explains Natalie Humphrey, who founded Baby Bazaar in 2012.
“The open days will feature a host of different nurseries from six different locations in Dubai, and it will offer parents the opportunity to meet a variety of nurseries around Dubai and ask them questions about their facilities and fees. There will also be loads of give-aways and activities for kids to keep them occupied.”
Baby Bazaar, held monthly at Times Square Mall from 9am-2pm, offers a host of baby and toddler items for sale as well as free arts and craft activities for children. The market also welcomes a handful of child related businesses – hand-picked by the organisers to provide a balanced mix for visitors.
“Having lived in Dubai for eight years now and running my own moving company, Easytruck, you start to realise how much ‘stuff’ gets wasted in this town,” adds Humphrey.
“Babies grow out of their clothes and toys on a daily basis, and their ‘baby clutter’ occupies so much space in our homes. So many mums tell me that they have spent hundreds even thousands of dirhams on clothes or shoes, so to be able to get some money back from selling these items is just great. The money they make from selling their unwanted baby clutter is then put towards something like the family holiday.”
“Baby Bazaar works because it is essentially a win/win situation – mums sell their unwanted baby clutter, make money and free up much needed space in their home. And the mums who buy at Baby Bazaar get to take home good quality baby and toddler items for less than half the price they would pay in the shops.”
“Baby Bazaar market days are very social and they have quickly become a meeting point for new mums to meet other new mums and for friends to get together for coffee and a shop. There is an undeniable buzz at every market where mums get together and feel like they’re part of a growing community, which is so inspiring!” added Humphrey.
