Muscat Grand Mall celebrates second anniversary

Marking a truly remarkable milestone, Muscat Grand Mall (MGM) celebrated its second anniversary where employees of the mall joined with a large number of customers to celebrate the success achieved over the previous year. Muscat Grand Mall was inaugurated officially on March 1, 2012 and since then the Mall has been scoring continuous achievements, and in its second year of operation has topped the list of most popular shopping destinations in the Sultanate.

Highlighting this achievement, Hassan Jaboub, General Manager of Muscat Grand Mall, said: “Muscat Grand Mall is like a dream come true. Since the planning phase, we wanted to create a great project that would add tremendous value to the Sultanate on the tourism, business and social levels. I am very proud to witness it becoming a reality and to see all of the vision and hard work manifest itself to become the Grand Mall we know today. The mall is a very popular destination for both residents and visitors who come to indulge in a 360 degree shopping experience.”

In a very short period, Muscat Grand Mall has topped the list of multipurpose shopping malls. In doing so, it became the most favored shopping destination, bringing together more than 130 shopping outlets that encompass elite international, regional and local brands. Many of the new brands chose Muscat Grand Mall to launch their outlets for the first time in Oman, as no other shopping destination could compete with such a convenient location and spacious galleries. The Mall has successfully attracted over 7 million visitors, a 40% increase on the number of visitors the year before, proving the unmatchable performance of this great project, and meeting the main objectives set by management and achieved with the hard work of the MGM team.

“In a very competitive environment in the retail industry, Muscat Grand Mall was able to set new standards that appealed to the audience through tailored campaigns that targeted the widest array of society. Additionally, MGM adapted a very unique vision for its social responsibility where 70 CSR initiatives were proudly launched only in the past year,” said Jaboub.

The second phase of Muscat Grand Mall, now underway, is due to be completed by the last quarter of 2015. It has been designed to complement the existing mall and further develop the retail landscape in Oman by taking the total number of stores in the Mall to 250, doubling the parking facilities, expanding and enriching the cinema experience and expanding the retail and lifestyle destination.
