A new research “Middle East Cyber Security Market by Technologies & by Services – Market Forecasts and Analysis” revealed, Cyber attacks continue to grow rapidly in the Middle East, Zawya has reported. Most of the cyber attacks that originate from Middle East are generally Distributed-Denial-Of-Service attacks and website defacement. But over time other types of cyber attacks have also increased, which is quite evident from the critical attacks on oil and gas industries such as Saudi Aramco and RasGas. Although security awareness among the commercial organizations is still low, governments in all the major gulf countries has taken a responsibility to spread IT security awareness among the public and private sector through the development of cyber security strategies. Kaspersky Security Network reported more than 650,000 ransomware infection incidents across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) last year, and it is not just consumers that have been infected, but companies as well, particularly in the oil and gas sector.
