Panasonic is planning to launch smartphones running the Windows Phone OS. The Japanese tech giant Panasonic, which smartphones are Android-based, has planned to introduce its smartphones in the UAE by the end of 2014, managing director for Panasonic Marketing Middle East and Africa Shinichi Wakita told Khaleej Times in an interview. Last year, the consumer durables maker introduced its smartphones and feature phones categories in India where the company also recently launched its Eluga U smartphones with an aim to control a 5% market share of a more than 1.2 billion population. Panasonic’s smartphones are Android-based, but the company is also planning to launch smartphones running the Windows Phone OS.
