Track24 launches intelligent SMART24 tracking application to secure global workforce against unforeseen threats in today’s volatile world

Track24, a leading provider of security tracking and location management technologies, has today announced the launch of its SMART24 tracking application. Multinational companies are moving operations and personnel further afield to take advantage of the growing opportunities presented by the emerging markets.

The smartphone app presents a new way for these organisations to drastically streamline their risk management capabilities and fulfil critical duty of care (DoC) obligations.

As the use of smartphones in business continues to rise across the Middle East and the wider world, Track24 is calling for organisations to embrace these new mobile technologies to manage the security of their entire workforce. As it stands, lack of awareness, investment and education by numerous multinational organisations are leaving personnel exposed to life-threatening risks.

These findings reveal that we need to raise awareness levels and demonstrate the significant role advanced mobile technologies, such as the SMART24 app, can play in managing the security of your staff.”

Growing opportunities across Africa, the Middle East and India mean existing operations are expanding into these territories and new businesses are emerging there. As a result, a growing number of expatriates and contract workers are relocating to unfamiliar environments where they risk facing serious threats including hostile political environments, terrorism, natural disasters and vehicle related accidents. In the event of an emergency, individuals can notify the security department by activating the panic alarm, appearing as an immediate visual alert on the back-office software platform, as well as via an automated SMS and e-mail. Elsewhere, the app strikes an equal balance between personal privacy and safety with the in-built ‘Heartbeat’ function. Even with tracking disabled, Heartbeat sends a touch point message every day, allowing the monitoring center to know the panic button is still operational.

Gilmore added, “In the development process of SMART24 we took into consideration the resistance often seen with tracking solutions and employees wanting their privacy respected and civil liberties left intact while at work. We’ve catered to this by customising the app so that users can switch off the live tracking command, but keep the crucial panic alarm function enabled in case of an emergency. When a panic alarm is activated, an individual’s location will update every 15 seconds and if needed, a near real time response initiated.”

Track24’s intuitive digital mapping and C4i monitoring platform, allows security managers to log-in via the web based platform to determine the exact location and status of employees around the clock. Connected via GPRS and GPS, SMART24 is also equipped for SMS fall-back, allowing the application to be used in remote areas. When traveling in these isolated regions, users do not need to worry about battery drainage, with power usage extremely low compared to similar products available.
