Vodafone Qatar has reported a 30% rise in its revenue to QR1.98bn for the year ended March 31, 2014, compared with the same period a year ago, mainly due to the increase in mobile revenues, the Peninsula has reported. The company’s share of mobile revenues in the country grew to 33.6% by the end of the financial year from 30.4% in the previous year. “Vodafone Qatar’s growth in mobile revenues is attributed to the fact that 62% of Qatar’s population uses the company’s services each month,” said Vodafone Qatar’s chairman, Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Thani Al Thani. “On March 31, 2014, the number of our customers reached 1.327 million, an increase by 22%, representing 243,000 more subscribers over the previous year,” he said.
