Zain, the leading telecommunications company in Kuwait, announced the launch of its extensive Corporate Social Responsibility campaign of special activities and initiatives that will be held throughout the Ramadan. These activities aim at shedding light on the true Ramadan spirit and celebrating this special time of the year with the local community.
The extensive program planned for Ramadan reflects the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy in which Zain focuses on giving back to the community. The company carefully selected the activities and programs that most presented an added value to all segments of society.
Commenting on the launch of the CSR program, Zain Kuwait’s Chief Executive Officer, Omar Al Omar, said, “We would like to take this opportunity to greet our customers on the blessed occasion of Ramadan. This month presents a special time for our organization to communicate and interact with the community through our social and charitable programs. Every year at Zain, we prove that we are a company that pioneers in the social involvement arena, where we play a big role to give back to the community.” Al Omar added, “our pledge towards our customers of providing them with the latest and best technologies has never been broken, and today we continue our promise towards the entire community through our annual Ramadan CSR program in eagerness to reach out to as much people in need as possible.”
On the topic of the annual humanitarian initiatives the company plans every year, Al Omar stated that Zain’s Ramadan CSR program already started with the ‘Ramadan Machla’ initiative , in which the company provided Zakat House and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor with food essentials through the distribution of ‘Machla Boxes’. Al Omar confirmed that this annual initiative aims at covering the needs of underprivileged families in Kuwait by providing them with essential food supplies in the occasion of the upcoming Ramadan.
Al Omar went on to explain that, just like every year, Zain will be sharing the joys of Iftar by distributing over 2000 Iftar meals every day throughout the month of Ramadan to the underprivileged at four dedicated halls in Jleib Al Shyoukh, Khaitan, Al Farwaniya, and Amghara districts. The company specifically chose the most crowded areas to reach out to the maximum number of people.
Al Omar also affirmed that the company plans to share special Ramadan Iftar meals with entities and bodies that are exerting tremendous efforts during the time of the Iftar meal instead of being at home with their families. This initiative aims at recognizing the great efforts and sacrifices of those people who save the lives of others on a daily basis and are in charge of the country’s safety and people’s wellbeing.
Explaining further, Al Omar added, “Zain is very keen to share the joys and blessings Ramadan brings with those who are less fortunate, and this is reflected through our annual visits to care centers during Ramadan. Our team of volunteers prepares Girgeaan gifts and surprises to various segments of society through the annual visits. Those segments include people with special needs, orphans, and the elderly. The company’s volunteers also visit the children’s units in hospitals during this special time of year to distribute gifts and celebrate in a family atmosphere full of joy and happiness.”
Al Omar mentioned, “Zain is also planning to host its annual Girgeaan celebration in cooperation with Al Amal club for children suffering from cancer and blood disorders. The company will celebrate the occasion with children in an atmosphere filled with happiness, in which the company will distribute Girgeaan gifts while also organizing many fun activities to bring happiness to the lives of children suffering from cancer.”
