Mobily came ahead of the world’s telecom operators in providing 4G LTE international roaming services while roaming in 15 countries around the world. Mobily company aims to reach more than 50 countries around the world by the end of 2014. This announcement came on the sidelines of the Mobile World Congress 2014”, Barcelona, Spain.
Mobily is covering currently all of Canada, France, Hong Kong, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Tajikistan, the United Arab Emirates and United States. The plan is to include Japan, United Kingdom, Belgium, Brazil, Norway, Oman and Australia in the coverage during the summer of this year.
Engineer Khalid bin Omar Al Kaf, MD and CEO of Mobily emphasized that this strategic move puts the Kingdom’s name at the forefront of the world in the advancement of international 4G roaming services, where such coverage is broad and is the largest current target in the world.
Engineer Al KAF expressed his pleasure with this global achievement confirming the great development that has been reached by the provided telecom services in the Kingdom. These services are competing their counterparts provided in the developed countries. Engineer Al Kaf added that Mobily will not spare any effort in keeping its subscribers as the top users of such advanced services at the global level, noting that Mobily continuously receives calls and invitations by organizations and specialized telecom companies that display their successful experiences in providing many services that have achieved a global precedence.
Mobily announced by the end of 2012 the success of the technical tests in the first process of roaming through data sim card and accordingly became as the first in the region in this field. Mobily conducted the bonding process with Hong Kong.
