Bahrain-based Viva has said it has become the kingdom’s first telecoms operator to offer its customers mobile HD (high-definition) Voice technology, Gulf Daily News has reported. “VIVA customers will be the first to enjoy crystal clear audio quality for calls between mobile phones, further enhancing their communications experience when using the high-speed network,” said Viva’s chief commercial officer, Andrew Hanna. “All VIVA customers will enjoy immediately the benefits of this technology when receiving or making calls from an HD Voice compatible smartphone without having to register for this premium capability and at no cost,” said Hanna. Viva is owned by the Saudi Telecom Co (STC) and started its commercial service in March 2010.
