The nineteenth edition of The Saudi food, hotel & hospitality Arabia Fair concluded on Wednesday at Jeddah Center for Forums and Events. More than 18,000 Visitor and Participants have registered over the past four days. The event had surpassed all expectations, and was acclaimed a success achieved by food and hospitality companies who participated in the exhibition.
Organised by Al Harithy Company for Exhibitions (ACE) , the event showcased an impressive spread which ranged from the finest and most unique food ingredients and products, food service equipment and technology, hotel amenities, hospitality technology .
The fair attracted over 400 exhibition booths from Bangladesh, Bahrain, China, Cyprus, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Pakistan, Turkey, USA and other local Saudi companies.
Commenting on the outcome of the show, Zahoor Siddique, Vice President for Exhibitions, ACE stated, “The exhibition had set new standards with record attendance and unprecedented business volume and we are glad to meet the needs of the industry by providing a platform for restaurants, hotels, retailers and businesses to network, gather the latest industry information, and forge new business opportunities.”
With the participation of 18 companies from Malaysia, Consul General of Malaysia, HE Mohd Khalid Abbasi Abdul Razak stated that Saudi Arabia being the single-largest market for food and beverages in the Gulf region, accounting for 63% of all of the region’s imports with the value of the Saudi halal food estimated at US$ 6 billion annually, “ It was timely for Malaysian companies to be in the Kingdom, to explore for business partnerships with their counterparts” he said.
He believes that by continue working closely together with Saudi companies it has further fostered the advancement of trade and economic relationship of both countries and mutually beneficial.
Meanwhile, David Bryant , CEO of Export USA Commodities who participated for the first time pointed out that US top brands are in big demand here in Saudi Arabia, “ I was very surprised that there has been much interest of Saudis because of the close relationship between the two countries” he said.
The response was impressive for the Indian Saffron as Avneesh Chhabra from USMS Saffron Co explained “It was a success participation for us because we got so many offers from Saudi traders and also consumers because of the quality of Indian Saffron,” he said.
Chhabra also added “ We participated in the Saudi food, hotel & hospitality exhibition for the first time and our goal was to promote the Indian Saffron here in Saudi Arabia. We could not miss this event and we are very happy with the positive result.”
The four –day exhibition was also playing host to open cooking championship & art de table competition, a contest of skill, finesse and presentation from the region’s most talented chefs sponsored by Nestle, Saudi Arabian Chefs Table Circle and World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS).
Siddique concluded “It was a meeting point for business, progress and the future of the sector. The event aimed to increase the sector’s visibility, as well as the number of business exchanges and its profitability.”
