Gulf Daily News (GDN) issued lately a report showing that waiting times for trucks at the Bahrain customs area at King Fahad Causeway have been slashed by a third in one month. Loaded trucks have had a waiting period reduced from 757 minutes to 505 minutes. Efforts are underway to bring this down to 240 minutes by the month-end, GDN quoted Akhbar Al Khaleej. Better movement across the causeway is expected to invigorate economic momentum and increase investors’ trust in the local market. It follows the deployment of additional staff, speeding up of customs formalities, allowing easier recruitment by clearance agencies and granting immediate access to goods exempted from duties.
