Millennium & Copthorne Hotels Middle East and Africa (MEA), one of the region’s fastest-growing hotel groups, has upgraded the Millennium Hotel Amman to the five-star deluxe-branded Grand Millennium Amman, Jordan.
The redesign was carried-out by Jordanian Charles Glain and Christopher Guy, the renowned British award-winning international designer and came about after the hotel’s highly successful launch in 2012 – which subsequently consolidated its market-leading position.
The upgrade involved refurbishing the interiors, fixtures and furnishings, creating additional meeting and conference facilities, as well as enhancements to the Moroccan Haman and spa to create a more luxurious experience. The hotel is now planning a new entertainment programme with new promotional packages, supported by a creative marketing campaign.
“The ambition of the Grand Millennium Amman epitomises our plans to manage 50 properties across the region within the next three years with focused management, motivated staff and supportive owners. Ongoing investment is vital to our strategy and we remain committed to our business partners – maximizing their return while enhancing the hotel’s reputation for creating memorable guest experiences,” said Ali Hamad Lakhraim Alzaabi, President & CEO, Millennium and Copthorne Middle East & Africa.
The hotel’s Revenue Per Available Room (RevPar) performance supported the business case for an upgrade in addition to critical acclaim which earned the hotel the region’s Business Destination Travel Award 2013, in recognition of its outstanding corporate guest proposition.
Grand Millennium Amman sets itself apart from other five-star properties in Jordan as the most technologically advanced hotel in the country. Rooms are equipped with a Room Management System, 40-inch LCD TV’s, wireless high-speed internet access and IP Phones. All rooms have multiple cable connections and wireless internet.
In addition to the advanced technology on offer, the hotel also comprises a number of Amman’s most popular restaurants. Located on the 21st floor, with uninterrupted views of Amman, Sky Lounge is renowned for hosting lavish weddings, while other outlets include the Asian-inspired Toshi restaurant and Lebanese Fattoush and the famous Crystal Bar.
Launched in January 2014, the newly opened SKY Spa & Health Club features traditional male and female fully equipped Moroccan Hammams, indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam and sauna facilities and offers an extensive body treatment menu.
Owner of the Grand Millennium Amman and Chairman of Eastern Investment Group Holding Dr. Majid Al Sadi stated, “The refurbishment has been completed to recognised international standards and fully deserves its Grand Millennium brand status. Not only does it support the government’s long-term economic development strategy to enhance tourism throughout Jordan, it is representative of our own values – driving quality and value to create an exceptional experience for our guests.”
