Bahrain’s Gulf Hotels Group (GHG) has said it is investing BD50m ($132m) for the development of the five-star Gulf Hotel Business Bay, Gulf Daily News has reported. “This waterfront property, located 1.5km from Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall, is now in design stage and is expected to open mid-2017,” said GHG chairman, Farouk Almoayyed. The hotel will feature 230 rooms, three fine-dining restaurants, a variety of function halls and meeting facilities, a spa and fitness centre and other top-class facilities including substantial car parking. GHG also plans to set up two five-star hotels in Dubai over the next few years, Almoayyed said, without providing further details.
