Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham, the first hotel for Wyndham Hotel Group in Dubai and the region, participated in Earth Hour on 29th March 2014 from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm at the property premises, by dimming or switching off the lights at the hotel in a bid to contribute to the world’s biggest environment initiative.
Earth Hour encourages individuals, communities, households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and power for an hour to raise awareness of climate change. Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham dimmed or switched off all unnecessary lights and electrical devices for one hour at the property and used candles across the premises to support this initiative.
Wael El Behi, General Manager Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham, said: “We, at Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham, observed the Earth hour with the rest of the world to raise awareness towards global warming. We hope to create energy saving culture at our property and instil energy saving habits in our staff for brighter future. We not only switched off unnecessary lights this year but also took a green pledge to become energy efficient property.”
