Oman has awarded a three-year OR1.5m ($4m) contract to Hill International, a leader in managing construction risk to provide project management services for the construction of sections 1 and 2 of a six-lane highway, Trade Arabia reported. The OR432m ($1.1bn) Bidbid – Sur Road project includes nine interchanges, two underpasses, two overpasses, associated retaining wall structures and approximately 171 reinforced concrete culverts. The 247-km (154-mile) highway will connect the cities of Bidbid and Sur. “We are honoured to be part of this major infrastructure project,” said Mohammed Al Rais, senior vice president and managing director (Middle East) for Hill’s Project Management Group. “The positive impact of the highway on commerce and tourism will benefit all of Oman.”
