Bespoke scores high in UAE

Abu Dhabi’s dealer of Rolls-Royce has been named the ‘Best Bespoke Dealer Worldwide’ for the past five years.

Realising the importance of this region’s market, the British car manufacturer has chosen Abu Dhabi Motors, the sole dealer of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, to offer the ultra-exclusive and bespoke Waterspeed Collection.

With only 35 Phantom Drophead Coupés set to be produced in the Collection world-wide, Emirati ultra-luxury automobile aficionados now join an exclusive, limited number of clientele able to place an order for what is an inspired appreciation of a unique and storied racing heritage.

The Waterspeed Collection celebrates Sir Malcolm Campbell’s historic act of British daring and endeavour. On September 1, 1937, Sir Campbell headed out to Lake Maggiore on the Swiss-Italian frontier to set the world water speed record of 126.32mph in a Rolls-Royce-powered Bluebird K3 hydroplane boat.

Campbell’s courage reaffirmed the Rolls-Royce R-Type engines’ record-breaking superiority.

This exclusive-edition car will be launched later this month in Italy near Lake Maggiore.

Speaking of the Bespoke Waterspeed Collection, Arno Husselmann, general manager of Abu Dhabi Motors, says: “It’s an exceptional car with a unique heritage that exudes luxury, performance and sophistication, but its limited production run and contemporary bespoke color scheme make it that much more rare. With only 35 production units available globally, we are very excited to be hosting this masterpiece at our showroom here in Abu Dhabi later this year.

“This special collection serves to showcase the remarkable bespoke programme available to Rolls-Royce customers. This is an area in which Abu Dhabi Motors excels, as underscored by our winning of the ‘Best Bespoke Dealer Worldwide 2013’ title in February this year for the fifth year in a row,” Husselmann adds.

Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, said:  “Sir Campbell’s speed records on land and water were the result of his commitment to the most exacting standards of British design and engineering excellence. Such attributes are hallmarks of every Rolls-Royce motor car, ensuring the marquee’s position at the pinnacle of super-luxury manufacturing.”

“It takes more than 80 hours for a Rolls-Royce craftsperson to manufacture and hand brush each car’s striking brushed steel deck,” he concludes.
