Bahrain Works Minister highlights Roads and Sanitary Projects in East Riffa
HE the Minister of Works Eng. Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf received at his office Sothern Governorate’s Municipal Council Member and representative to the 1st Constituency Mohammed Moosa Al Balooshi.
Present at the meeting were also Roads Assistant Undersecretary Eng. Huda Fakhro, Chief of the Designs Section at Sanitary Engineering Planning & Projects Directorate Eng. Fatima Jaffar, Media & Community Service Head Hafedh Abdulghaffar and Eng. Faisal Al Rayyash from the Coordination & Follow-Up Committee. The meeting highlighted a number of roads and sanitary projects in East Riffa.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister commended the important role of Municipal Councils in all Kingdom’s Governorates. He also lauded the efforts extended by Mr. Al Balooshi and his constant follow-up to residents’ affairs and needs.
During the meeting, Mr. Al Balooshi referred to the revamp of Al Hunainiya Avenue and linking it to Al Muaskar Avenue. Work to revamp Al Hunainiya Avenue; the part located between Road 1062 and Shaikh Humood Al Sabah Avenue, is included within the roads revamp program 2014-2015. 20% of the detailed designs have already been completed and implementation will commence following the approval of all service entities and the Ministry of Finance’s consent to invite bids for the project’s tender. As for the work to link AL Muaskar Avenue to Al Hunainiya Avenue, the Ministry will coordinate with the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning in this regard.
Al Balooshi also discussed the revamp of Riffa Avenue, where the Minister explained that the Ministry is preparing the detailed designs for the project. Reference was also made to the revamp of Blocks 905, 907, 911, 909, 903 and 901 in East Riffa.
